Govt aims to simplify ship-breaking management: BSBA

Govt has taken pragmatic measures to simplify the ship breaking methods aimed at saving the environment pollution with cautiously . Within next two or three years, govt will adopt durable development of the shipbreaking industry , a sources of Bangaldesh Ship breaking Association said.
The association sources said govt is going to adopt the device of ship breaking with the concept of Turkish govt . Sources said a govt delegation comprising high govt officials and members of BSBA visited Turkish ship breaking sector recently and the leaders of BSBA expressed this view to the media men. They said NORAD of Norway and IMO (International Maritime Organization) have taken a project of ship breaking in Bangladesh at a cost of Tk.12 crores. The Bangladesh delegation to Turkey consists of President sof BSB MA Taher, BSBA member Jahirul Islam , joint secretary of Industry ministry Yasmeen Sultana, ERD official Saleha Binte Siraj, ABM sirajul Hoque of Minsitry of labour & employment, Director of DOE Moqbul Hossain, Toffazal Hossain of Explosive Directorate.The delegation members exchanged views with the officials of Turkish Maritime Ministry and Coastal Directorate and visited different ship breaking yards of Turkey, sources said.
