Government Bangla College became champions in the 8th First Security Islami Bank College Rugby Competition beating Maestro Crown College by 10-3 points in the final at the Physical Education College Ground in the city’s Mohammadpur on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Adamjee Cantonment College finished third defeating Government Kabi Nazrul College by 14-0 points in a place-deciding match at the same venue on the same day.
After the final match, national awardee and former boxer Md Abdul Halim distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Senior Vice-President of First Security Islami Bank Limited Shahazada Basunia gave away the prizes among the winners as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Abdullah Al-Zahir Shapan, General Secretary of BRU Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Sayed Ahmed were present at the time.
