Government attains significant success in development sector

State Minister for Water Resources Lt. Col. (retd) Nazrul Islam Hiru said Bangladesh is progressing fast towards development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said the present government has set a glaring example of success in various sectors like education, communication, agriculture, health and power supply
Hiru said there is no frequent load shedding at present in the country. Bangladesh attained the second position in weaving industry in the world. The country is now surplus in food and hopes to export 40 lakh tonnes of rice soon, the state minister said.
He said this while addressing as chief guest the annual conference 2014 of Narsingdi Zila Registered Kazi Samity at local Shilpakala Academy here yesterday.
He said the kazis are Islamic scholars. They can play a vital role in checking early marriage and preventing all sorts of violation including dowry.
President of Narsingdi District Kazi Samity Sheikh Mohammad Altaf Hossain presided over the conference.
Deputy commissioner of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Police Super Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, principal of Abdul Kader Mollah City College Dr Moshiur Rahman Mirdha, president of Registered Kazi Samity central committee and secretary of Religious Affairs Bangladesh Awami League Moulana Khalilur Rahman, Joint secretary of the Kazi Samity central committee Waliur Rahman addressed as special guests.
