Bangladeshi expatriates in Malaysia hailing from Gopalganj formed an organization under the name of ‘Gopalganj Samity’ aimed at sharing cultural values with other people in Kuala Lumpur.
The committee was formed in presence of Awami Swechchhasebok League President Molla Mohammad Abu Kawser on October 6. M Shawkat Ali Tinu was elected as president while Arifuzzaman Chowdhury Mitul made general secretary of the newly formed committee.
The other office-bearers of the Gopalganj Samity are: M zahidul Islam Chowdhury Milon- vice president, M Nurul Amin- joint general secretary, Al-Helal – organizing secretary, M Shafiul Alam- treasurer and KM Rachi- publicity secretary.
A reunion of the committee was held at a local restaurant after Eid-ul-Azha.
