Burglars looted valuables worth Tk34 lakh, including gold and cash, from a house at Sitarampur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district early Wednesday.
Police said, a gang of burglars entered the house of Amir Hossain of the village by breaking open its collapsible gate around 5:00am while the house inmates were asleep. The gang looted 55 tolas of gold ornaments worth Tk 22 lakh and cash Tk seven lakh and US$6,700 from the house.
Later, the bandits locked the house from outside and left with the booty.
In the next morning, the house inmates woke up and saw the doors locked from the outside.
Later, local people opened the door. Amir Hossain filed a case with Kotwali Model Police Station.
