GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited won his first round game against Ahmed Holi Ali Moawia of Sudan in the 16th Dubai Open Chess Championship which began on Monday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A total of 143 players from 39 countries, including 38 grandmasters, 8 women grandmasters and 16 International Masters, are competing for fifty thousand US dollars prize money.
