Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra made a good start in the Walton Federation Cup Football defeating Bangladesh Police Club by a solitary goal in their first group match at the country’s prime venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
After a barren first half, Tajik defender Asrorov of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra put his team ahead using a free-kick of his teammate Kyrgyz Bakhtiyar in the 50th minute of the play.
Though Bangladesh Police showed a better brand of soccer but ill-fated Police had to leave the field after conceding a defeat. Their Sri Lankan Coach Pakir Ali tasted a bitter test though his boys performed better than their opponents.
