Good start for Bangladesh in World Chess Olympiad

Both the Bangladesh chess teams won their 1st round game and made a good starts in the 42nd World Chess Olympiad Chess which began on Friday at Baku in Azerbaijan.
In the open section, Bangladesh team beat San Marino by 4-0 points and in women section Bangladesh women team defeated Sudan by 4-0 points.
GM Enamul Hossain, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin and GM Niaz Murshed won accordingly Paul Rossini, Berardi Giancarlo, Maccapani Massimiliano and Volpinari Danilo of San Marino.
In women’s section, WIM Shamima Akter Liza, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva and WIM Rani Hamid won accordingly against Najwa Mohammed Ahmed, Rawan Eyhab, Ibtihal Mohammed and Zienab Mustafa Mansour of Sudan.
FM M Taibur Rahman is captaining the Bangladesh open team and Mahmuda Hoque Chowdhury Moly is leading for Bangladesh women’s team.
A total of 180 teams from 175 countries and 3 organisations are participating in the open section and 140 teams from 136 countries and 2 organisations are participating in women’s section, said a Bangladesh Chess Federation press release today.
