The Gono Forum has served a show-cause notice on its presidium member Mokabbir Khan seeking an explanation on his decision to take oath as an MP.
He has been given 10 days to respond to two complaints over his defiance of the party’s orders against taking oath in parliament. Mokobbir is the only Gono Forum candidate to be elected to parliament under the party’s ‘rising sun’ symbol after
winning the Sylhet-2 seat in the 11th national election.
The party had decided to serve notice a week ago but were moved to do so now after a section of Gono Forum leaders and activists were irked by Mokobbir’s presence on stage next to Kamal Hossain during the special council of the party on Friday.
