Fakhrul Arefeen Khan directed the film Gondi to be screened in the 21st edition of Rainbow Film Festival in London, UK. The Rainbow film festival will be held from October 18 to 25. Gondi will be shown as the opening film of the festival, according to a press release.
The festival authorities announced the news on their Facebook page and online. Fakhrul Arefeen Khan also confirmed the news, saying, “Film festivals in many parts of the world are closed at this time of the year. In the meantime, the online Rainbow Film Festival will open their festival with our pictures, which is great news for us.”
The story of Gondi, a romantic-comedy genre, revolves around two men and women between the ages of 55 and 65. It’s all about the friendship between the two men and women at this retirement age, how the family and the people around them take matters into their own hands. Gondi is based on Shuvojit Roy’s story Pother Saathi.
Noted Bangladeshi actress Suborna Mustafa and Indian actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty have played lead characters in the film. The film also stars Aparna Ghosh, Payel Mukherjee, Majnun Mijan, Amaan Reza, and others in prominent roles. It was released at local cinemas on February 7.
