Customs Intelligence officials seized 88 gold bars weighing 10.22 kgs at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday. The gold is worth around Tk Seven crore, customs officials said.
According to the customs detectives, the smugglers are changing hands in smuggling gold. They are using Shahjalal International Airport as a transit route for gold smuggling. In this regard, the Director General of Customs Detective Abdur Rauf told the media that our customs detectives have stepped up surveillance and conducted a special operation to recover 88 gold bars. Details will be informed later.
