Gold smuggling through Chittagong International Airport became a regular phenomenon of the airport. According to sources, gold consignment detected in every day from Sunday to Saturday last. Airport customs of CIA seized 4 gold bars worth about Tk.20 lakh from two passengers of Fly Dubai flight arrived from Dubai flight arrived from Dubai.
After searching the bodiesof two passengers, these gold bars recovered. The identityof the passengers are – Emran Hossain and Md. Mohiuddin. Emran hails from Comilla and Mohiuddin from Chittagong.
Assistant commissioner of Customs Moshiur Rahman told that these seized gold bars deposited to Bangladesh Bank. Mentionable that Airport customs already seized gold worth about 22 cr taka during last one week, sources said.
