Gold prices are set to fall by Tk 1,166 per bhori after the prices were raised for four times in August.
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity (BAJUS) has announced that 22-carat gold jewellery, sold for Tk 58,028 till Tuesday, would be priced at Tk 56,862 per bhori from Wednesday onwards.
BAJUS announced the decision to reduce prices in the local market in a media press citing fall in prices in international markets.
According to the new adjusted prices, each bhori of 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 56,862 with each gram trading at Tk 4,875.
Each bhori of 21-carat gold will be charged Tk 58,417 while each bhori of 18-carat will be sold for Tk 49,513.
Every bhori of sanatan gold is set to be sold for Tk 29,160 while each bhori of 21-carat silver (cadmium) can be purchased for Tk 933. The prices of 23-carat platinum will remain unchanged which costs Tk 65,026.
The gold prices were raised by the constant amount of Tk 1,166 per bhori four times on Aug 6, 8, 18 and 27.
