The new price of 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk1,518 to Tk71,150 per bhori (11.664 grams)
In response to a downward trend in gold prices in the global market, Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) has revised the prices of the precious yellow metal in the country.
As per the new prices, effective from March 3, the price of 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk1,518 to Tk71,150 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21 carat gold has been set at Tk69,500. The price of 18 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 60,650.
Antique gold has been set at Tk50,400 per bhori.
Buyers will now have to pay Tk2,900 per bhori of gold as remuneration. Although silver will be sold at its previous price, Tk300 has been added as remuneration.
Gold prices in the global market dipped by 1.88% last week, after witnessing a fluctuation of 5.94% in February this year.
Bajus leaders think gold prices might fall further in the country corresponding to the international market.
