Customs officials at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport seized 8 gold bars worth about tk.40 lakh from a passenger .
The passenger identified as Md. Morshed who came from Muscat in a Bangladesh Biman flight yesterday morning.
While contacted Asstt. Commissioner of Customs Kamrul Islam confirmed the seizure of gold bars and arrest of passenger Morshed.
Sources said suspecting the movement of the passenger while crossing the green channel of the airport, customs challenged him and managed to seize 928 grams gold consists of 8 bars .
A case has been lodged with the Patenga thana of CMP sources said.
Meanwhile one Biman employee of Traffic Department KM Nuruddin sent to jail for alleged involvement in gold smuggling scandal at chittagong airport. Metropolitan session judge Md. Shah Noor sent him to jail custody while surrendered before the court on Wednesday.
