GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited is keeping his solo lead in the points table after 7th round with 6½ points in the Berger Paints National A Chess Championship is now being held at the Media Centre of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban.
GM Enamul Hossain of Bangladesh Navy is in the 2nd position with 5½ points. GM Niaz Murshed of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club, reigning champion GM Abdullah Al Rakib and FM Sk Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy are sharing 3rd position with 5 points each.
The 7th round games were held yesterday (Saturday).
In the 7th round games, Zia beat FM Rezaul Haque of Access Group, GM Enamul drew with GM Niaz Murshed, GM Rakib beat Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, FM Nasir beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed of Dhaka Mohammedan, IM Minhazuddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy beat CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess Club.
The 8th round games will start today (Sunday) from 2:30 pm at the same venue.
