GM Ziaur Rahman became 5th in the in the 10th Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Open Chess Tournament-2017 which concluded on Sunday in the Mumbai, India.
Four players along with GM Zia finished at 7.5 points each and were tied for the 3rd position. In tie-breaking system GM Zia became 5th. GM Niaz Murshed became 12th and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib became 15th with 7 points each,
GM Enamul Hossain Razib became 22nd with 6.5 points, M Anisuzzaman Jewel became 54th with 6 points, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman became 59th with 5.5, Mohammad Sherajul Kabir became 124th and Md. Jamal Uddin became 134th with 4.5 points each, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon became 136th, Tasin Tajwar Zia became 151st and Mezanur Rahman became 153rd with 4 points each, Manon Reza Neer became 165th with 3.5 points, Shanza Mohammad Farique became 172nd, Kazi Md. Mahbub Afzal became 175th, Mohammad Aminul Islam became 176th, Md. Raju ahmed became 177th and Md. Hasan became 178th with 3 points each..
GM Nguyen became champion with 8.5 points and GM Amonatov Farrukh of Tajikistan became runner-up with 8 points each.
Total 203 players from 12 countries including 15 grandmasters, 2 women grandmasters and 12 International Masters were participated in the event.
