GM Abdullah Al-Rakib of Bangladesh Navy and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonine Chess Club are jointly leading in the points table with maximum 5 points each after end of the 5th round games of the Walton International Rating Chess Tournament sponsored by Electronics and home appliance manufacturer company renowned brand Walton and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Uten of Leonine Chess Club is in the 2nd position with 4½ points.
The 5th round games were held yesterday (Tuesday). In the 5th round games: Rakib beat Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, Parag beat Rabiul Bhuiyan, Uten beat Mukitul Islam Ripon, FM Mohammad Javed beat Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, Maftabuddin Ahmed beat Anisuzzaman Mallik, FM Md Saif Uddin beat Md Abdur Rauf, Anisuzzaman Jewel beat Md Zakaria, Mohammad Enayet Hossain beat Elias Shah, Md Sagar beat Anata Chowdhury, Abdul Momin beat Shahjahan Kabir, Mohammad Sherajul Kabir beat Amadul Kabir Chowdhury and Abjit Barua beat Feroz Ahmed.
The 6th round games will start today (Wednesday) from 2:30 pm at the same venue.
