Grand Master (GM) Enamul Hossain Rajib emerged as the champion of the Omicon Group National A Chess Championship at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Wednesday.
GM Enamul Hossain Rajib and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib bagged 11 points each from 13 matches. Later, GM Enamul Hossain Rajib beat GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib by 2-0 games in the play-off matches. GM Rakib became runner-up in the meet.
GM Enamul Hossain Rajib clinched the National Chess Championship for four times. He won the championship title in 1997, 2006, 2016 and 2017.
GM Ziaur Rahman finished third with eight and half points, while FIDE Master Khondker Aminul Islam obtained the fourth position with eight points, FIDE Master Fahad Rahman secured fifth position with seven and half points and Sheikh Nasir Ahmed finished sixth with seven points.
