Glory School and College emerge champions in Dhaka Metro round

Glory School and College emerged champions in Dhaka metro round of Prime Bank National School Cricket tournament beating Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School & College by 28 runs in the final held on Wednesday at Dhaka University’s Zahurul Haque Hall ground.
Batting first after winning the toss, Glory School and College were all out for 115 with opener Billal Hossain making 26 runs and Tabu Taiwan scoring 25.
Rimon Mia of Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School & College grabbed four Glory’s wickets conceding 32 runs.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 116 runs set by Glory School, Kadamtola found the chase stiff and were cheaply dismissed for a paltry total of 87 in 31.6 overs.
Milon Hossain (15), Imamul Hawlader (14) and Rimon Mia (14) were the notable scorers for Kadamtola.
Arnab Devnath was the wrecker in-chief as he claimed five Kadamtola’s wickets giving away only 11 runs. He also later named the player of the match for his fierce bowling spells.
Prime Bank Limited vice-president (marketing division) Noor Hossain Zakaria and Bangladesh Cricket Board age-group tournament committee’s secretary Mohammad Selim distributed the prizes after the final.
Seven divisional champions along with Dhaka Metro champions Glory School and College will take part in the national championship which will be held in the first week of the next month.
Earlier, Glory School and College ensured their final berth as they defeated Rayerbazar High School by 99 runs in the first semifinal while Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo confirmed their final sport defeating Faridabad High School by 82 runs in the second semis.
