People from the region of Chittogram need not to depend on foreign or capital based hospitals for qualitative cardiac healthcare services anymore.
Chittogram Metropolitan Hospital Limited launched globally standard cardiac care services from early 2011 through opening a specialized cardiac unit having 60 beds, It is the only hospital in the port city that offering cardiac and vascular care of all natures.
This hospital achieved countrywide reputation by extending different nature of cardiac operations including CABG. heart tumour excision, vascular tumour excision ,valve replacement, repair CABG, bypass , Systemic ventricular restoration, emergency CABG ( perforation of coronary artery with cardiac temponade) emergency heart bypass due to wire stuck in heart vessels during stenting  
Over 1056 indoor patients receive services of the hospital during the period of six year of its existence. . Angiogram and Angioplasty were successfully performed on several thousand patients . A significant number of critical patients received Primary PCI and Rescue PCI. While talked with the chief cardiac surgeon of CMH Dr.Sarwar Kamal told this reporter that in last year about 300 patients received caradiac and vascular treatment successfully. He also apprised that in January and February of current year, one 65yrs old women underwent open heart surgery in this hospital and another 8 years old boy underwent dual operation of heart i.e bypass and tumour excision from heart. He further informed that one Abdul Mannan of Sitakunda , Chittogram under went heart operation who survived successfully. Dr. Sarwar Kamal joined the CMHL in 2014 as head of the cardiac unit. Since his joining in CMHL , he operated a number of cardiac patients successfully.
 Mentionable that specialized cardiac surgeons and Cardiologists from India frequently assigned in this hospital but after joining of Dr.Sarwar Kamal , cardiac care unit achieved better reputations in cardiac treatment and operations, hospital authority sources said. Conscious circles observes following the better and developed cardiac services in Chittagong , country will save huge foreign exchange so spent by the patients in abroad for receiving the cardiac treatment. Hospital authority sources said a cardiac patient named HafezAhmed (52) instantly survive from danger of life by undergoing cardiac bypass operation in first week of the current month. Earlier in January, an old woman aged about 65 years under went open heart surgery successfully in the hospital, sources added. CMHL sources said the operational cost of cardiac operation is comparatively less than the hospitals in abroad .
