Staff Reporter :A total of 20,98,082 students out of 22,72,289 passed the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations this year with 92.33 percent pass rate. A total of 196,263 JSC and JDC examinees secured the highest grade point GPA-5, compared with 1,56,235 last year. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the results in the Secretariat at 1:30pm on Thursday. Earlier in the morning, the Education Minister handed the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her official residence Ganabhaban at about 10am. The Minister expressed his happiness in the press conference for progress in achieving quality education. As a result, the pass rate of the students is increasing every year. He also advised the students, who failed this year’s examinations, not to be disappointed. “One year is a very short time. Prepare for the next year’s examination. You will definitely be successful,” he said. A total of 17,80,770 (92.31 percent) students, out of 19,29,099, passed the JSC examination this year while a total of 3,17,312 (92.46 percent) students, among 3,43,190, came out successful in JDC examinations.A total of 1,87,502, JSC examinees obtained the highest grade point average, GPA-5, this year while 8,167 JDC examinees secured the GPA-5 this year.The number of successful students is 448 students out of 558 in JSC and JDC examinations held abroad in eight centres with 98.11 per cent pass rate.Meanwhile, 8,583 schools and madrasas achieved 100 percent pass rate while none pass from 43 institutions.The pass rate in Dhaka Board is 90.39 % Rajshahi Board 97.47%, Comilla Board 92.51%, Jessore, 95.44%, Chittagong 85.48%, Barisal 97.26%, Sylhet 93.59%, Dinajpur 91.52% and Madarsah Board 92.46%.To get the result through SMS, a JSC or JDC student will have to type ‘JSC or JDCfirst three letters of boardroll number2015’ and send text message to 16222. Students will be also able to check their results on the website of the corresponding education boards (www.educationboardresults.gov.bd).The examinations were held in 2,627 centres across the country under nine Education Boards from November 1 to November 18.
