Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) is expected to submit the results of performance trial of the Covid-19 antibody testing kit developed by the Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) within a day or two.
“We’ve already conducted the performance trial of Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s antibody testing kit. We’ve also almost prepared the final report on it,” said BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua.
He said they will submit the report to the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) within couple of days. BSMMU have conducted the trial of the kit as per a directive of the DGDA.
Once gets approval, GK’s antibody kit will help detect whether people were infected with coronavirus in the past and the presence of corona antibodies in their bodies.
On March 17, the Gonoshasthaya Kendra announced about developing kit, but it was still not approved by the authorities concerned.
