A Dhaka court yesterday placed Jubo League leader Golam Kibria Shamim on a 9-day fresh remand in connection with money laundering and arms cases.
Magistrate Mohammad Jasim of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing on Wednesday.
Earlier, Investigation Officer-Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Abu Sayeed of Criminal Investigation Department produced Shamim in the court seeking 10 days’ remand in the money laundering case.
Besides, RAB-1 Sub-Inspector Shekhar Chandra Mallik sought seven days remand for GK Shamim in arms case.
On September 20, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested Shamim and his seven bodyguards. Later, three cases were filed against him.
On September 21, a Dhaka court placed him on a 10-day remand in two cases. Seven of his bodyguards detained, were also put on 4-days’ remand each on Tuesday.
