The Bangladesh U-15 women’s team head coach Golam Robanni Choton said after consecutive good performances in the tournament the morale of the girls’ is now at the pick.
Bangladesh will take on India in the battle of crown in the final scheduled to be held today at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan.
“We came to play in the tournament with a younger side with an aim to play good football and the girls fulfilled it … We needed a win in the first match which the girls fulfilled and in the second match the girls’ beat Nepal and the result took us to the final,” Choton said before the final match.
“The result against India was a big achievement for the team and I hope the girls will carry out the same performance against India in the final and will be able to bring a good result for the nation,” the coach added.
Earlier, Bangladesh got off to a winning start as they blanked host Bhutan by 2-0 goals and defeated Nepal by 2-1 goals. Bangladesh earned a fighting 1- 1 goal draw against strong India in their third and last match.
On the other hand, India crushed Nepal by 4-1 goals in their opening match and dumped host Bhutan by 10-1 goals in the second match.
Bangladesh won all their three matches to become champions in the inaugural edition but lost to India with a solitary goal in the final of the last edition held in Bhutan.
