Police recovered the body of a girl cut into eight pieces from two cartons on Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Kagajpur Bridge in Osmaninagar uapzila on Wednesday.
Police said local people saw the hand of a human being in an abandoned carton and informed the matter to police around 2:30 pm. Later, police recovered the dismembered body parts of the girl from two abandoned cartons, said Abdul Awal Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station.
The body parts were sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
