Miscreants hacked to death a girl student in the early hours yesterday at Sawlpo Bahirdia village of TSB union under Rupsha upazila here.
The dead was identified as Seema Khatun,13, a student of class seven of Kazdia Secondary School in Rupsha.
Akash, an elder brother of the victim said that he found the body of his younger sister at the premises of their house at around 11.30pm last night. He along with neighbor rushed her to local health complex in critical condition but Seema succumbed to her injuries early hours yesterday.
“My father is a day worker who worked at a brick klin at Faridpur where his mother are
staying since three months,” Akash, a worker of neighborhood glory jute mill, said, adding that “My sister was alone in the house.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station Rafiqul Islam said that a total of four youth has been detained for interrogation. “The killing of the female student could not be known immediately but we tried to find out motive behind the murder,” he said. She might have been raped before the killing OC suspected, saying that it will be clear after autopsy report. A case was filed with Rupsha Police Station in this connection.
