A female student was allegedly raped inside a coaching centre by her teacher, who is also owner of the centre, in Narayanganj town on Saturday. Police arrested the accused teacher Md Shahin, but freed him on Tuesday.
Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Manjur Quader said that Shahin was arrested in a case filed under Section 9(3) of Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
But they let him go following a discussion with the high police officials.
In her statement, the victim said she went to Lens
English Coaching Centre on the Iqbal Road area at 2pm on Saturday for admission where she met Shahin. He took her inside a room to fill-up an admission form. When she went inside, Shahin locked the gate and raped her along with two other unidentified men. They let her go around 3:00pm and threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The victim went to Narayanganj Sadar Model police station on Sunday and filed a case against the criminals. Her medical test was done at Narayanganj General Hospital in late afternoon the same day.
The incident has created a tense situation in the town, another police sources said.
