A teenager girl who sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a match factory in Ashulia of Savar upazila on Tuesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ankhi, 15.
Ankhi, who received 80 percent burn injuries, died at the burn unit of DMCH around 4.00am, said sub-inspector Bacchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police camp. Earlier, 30 female
workers, including Ankhi sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a warehouse of ‘Colour Match BD’ at Jirabo Fulbagan in Ashulia around 4:30pm on Tuesday.
Soon the fire engulfed the entire tin-roofed factory as there were huge flammable objects, including chemicals, at the factory. On information, eight fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 6:30 pm.
