A stalker allegedly hacked a schoolgirl as she rejected his love proposal with a sharp knife in front of their residence at Bank Colony in Savar municipality on the out skirt of capital on Saturday.
Immediately after the incident, locals chased the stalker Aminul Islam and caught him with the sword and handed him over to police, giving him a good beating.
Mohsinul Qadir, Officer in-Charge of Savar Model Police Station, said
Aminul Islam allegedly hacked the schoolgirl indiscriminately in front of her house in the morning, leaving her injured critically.
The injured schoolgirl — Ila Rahman, 14, a class VIII student of Modern Kindergarten School — was admitted to Savar Upazila Health Complex.
A case was filed against the stalker and the accused is being interrogated, the OC added.
