Taslima (12), a student of Class VI of Khulna Ahmadia Madrasa and daughter of one Mawlana Abdul Latif of village Amtali under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district met her tragic end when she was drowned in a canal in the village Sanyasi under the same Upazila on Tuesday noon.
It is learnt from the locals that the ill-fated student went to the residence of her maternal grand father in the village Sayanasi under the same Upazila 3 days ago to pay a visit there.
On the day at noon (at about 12 am) the girl who did not know how to swim went to a nearby canal along with some other girls to take bath there. But at one stage she was drowned and missing.

After long 2 hours of the incident being informed of the matter a team of divers of Morrelganj Fire Service Station rushed to the spot, searched the canal, recovered the dead body and handed over the same to the relatives.
