A teenage girl died from suffocation as her scarf got tangled up with one of the wheels of a human hauler at Khaldhar Road intersection in the district town on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Muslima Akter, 13, a class VIII student of Government MSTP School and daughter of Nur Aslam of Barandi Mollapara in the town.
Witnesses said the scarf of Muslima got tangled up with the wheel of the human hauler while she was returning home in the evening, leaving her injured.
