Ghagra Army Zone of Rangamati district accorded a reception to five members of Bangladesh Women’s Football team on Thursday noon. Bangladesh Women’s Football team emerged the champions in the SAFF Women’s Championship, the most prestigious football meet of South Asian women. They defeated hosts Nepal Women’s Football team by 3-1 goals in the final at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal recently.
Deputy Chief of Ghagra Army Zone Major Ashiqur Rahman accorded the reception to the five Bangladesh female booters.
Ghagra Army Zone handed over crests and presentation to Rupna Chakma, Ritu Porna Chakma, Monika Chakma, Anuching Mogini, Anai Mogini, the members of the Bangladesh Women’s Football team.
Ashiqur Rahman said, ” Ghagra High School Ground is now unplayable due to heavy rain. Within two weeks, we shall prepare the ground to practice there.”
He said, ” The winners of the SAFF women’s Championship earned a new achievement for the country in the whole world. They earned dignity for our country. We are highly delighted to accord reception to them.”
Earlier, Ghagra High School accorded a reception to the five female booters.
The district council of Rangamati and the Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati accorded a reception to the five female booters in Thursday afternoon.
The Ghagra High School is situated in Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati district. Rupna Chakma, Ritu Porna Chakma, Monika Chakma, Anuching Mogini and Anai Mogini, the five female booters are the product of Ghagra High School. The five female booeters became national heroines after practicing Ghagra High School. Rupna Chakma, Ritu Porna Chakma are from Rangamati district, while Monika Chakma, Anuching Mogini and Anai Mogini are from Khagrachari district.
