German wants to support textile sector education of Bangladesh to give a boost in academic-research collaboration, training, curriculum and network development.
The interest was shown when a four-member delegation from German Development Cooperation called on UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan at the latter’s office recently.
Julia Backer, Education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Labour Markets, Germany led the delegation. Other members of the delegation included Heike Knoop, Education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Labour Markets, Germany, Lars Gerold, Head of Section, Development Cooperation Institution Building In higher Education, German and Zia Ahad, Independent CSR Consultant.
They laid emphasis on formulating technical assistance project proposal and finding opportunities in textile education and other compliances.
Terming the proposal an excellent one, UGC Chairman said that University Grants Commission always welcomes the foreign assistance and cooperation in knowledge and skills development. Good connectivity in academic and research collaboration between local and international higher educational institutions is a must to survive in this globalized world, he added.
