German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz made a courtesy meeting with Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin recenlyat his office in Tiger-pass.
German degrees of knowledge, science and research work is accepted around the world, Ambassador Peter Fahrenholtz said Germany is called a paradise for science studies and research. Most universities here do not charge any tuition fees. There are also various scholarship opportunities. Permanent employment is available at the end of study.
In addition, there are opportunities to study in 25 countries in Europe through a student visa. German Embassy will provide all possible assistance in granting visas to students who want to study in Germany.
The ambassador said that Germany will always be on Bangladesh side with the spirit of partnership. Bangladesh is a country of great potential. There are many areas to enhance cooperation between the two countries. Many German companies are interested in investing in Bangladesh.
The Mayor congratulated the German Ambassador and said that Bangladesh has a historic relationship with Germany. Germany became the first country to recognize Bangladesh in 12 of its countries after the independence of Bangladesh.
When Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated on August 15, the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana were in Germany and were saved from the deadly cycle.
The German government introduced genuine friendship by harboring them during the crisis period. I thank the German government and the people for this gesture Mayor added.
