The cooperation and assistance of Germany in ship-breaking sector of Bangladesh will be continued for its development .
German Ambassador in Bangladesh Dr.Thamas disclosed it while visiting the PHP Ship Breaking & Recycling Yard in Sitalpur of Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong on Tuesday . During his visit in PHP Yard, Managing Director of PHP Shipbraking yard and Secretary of Ship Breakers Association Md. Jahirul Islam Rinku welcomed him in the yard at 3 pm. Among others Head of Development Cooperation of German Embassy Roseita Emels, creative consultant of ship breaking Dharmesh Jani and Yard Executive director Nur Mohammad Faruk were present on the occasion. The visiting diplomat goes round the all departments structures of the recycling method , hospital for workers, security measures for working persons and expressed satisfaction over the establishment of PHP Yard management. He also earmarked the PHP yard as a model one in Chittagong.
He also praised for yard’s all out environment . He also hoped that all the shipbreaking yard should be developed like PHP yard then this sector will go forward in coming days. Earlier, Diplomats of France, Netherlands, Malaysia, South Korea visited this yard , sources said.
