Entertainment Report :
The German Embassy is regularly inviting artists from Germany to Bangladesh to perform in Dhaka and other major cities to promote German culture abroad.
The focus of the invitations lays on classical music;
however, modern art projects are sponsored
from time to time, too.
The duo Ensemble L’Armonioso (harmonious
ensemble), visiting Dhaka on invitation of the German Embassy, performed in two concerts – on December 30 at the Radius Centre and on January 1 at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in a joint-collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The artists, soprano singer Victoria Knobloch and
concert guitarist Jan Skryhan, performed oeuvres
of famed classical composers of Germany, Händel, Schubert and Bach, as well as Spanish compositions of Federico García Lorca, Consuelo Velazquez and others.
The two, who have both won international acclaim independently, despite their young age, have been
working together in their duo since 2011. Knobloch was trained at various universities of music in Germany
and at the ‘Royal Conservatoire’ in Den Haag. Skryhan received his training in Belarus and Cologne in Germany.
