The government has declared general holiday in areas that were marked as ‘red zones’ by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in five more districts in an effort to contain the coronavirus
transmission. The districts are Faridpur, Manikganj, Brahmanbaria, Narsingdi and Kushtia.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday night, saying the announcement came into effect from Tuesday.
As per the notification, public movement will strictly be controlled in the ‘red zones’ to contain the transmission.
All the job-holders residing in the red zones will enjoy the holidays for 21 days.
Earlier on Sunday, the government declared general holiday in red zones in 10 districts–Chattogram, Bogura, Moulvibazar, Chuadanga, Jashore, Madaripur, Narayanganj, Habiganj, Munshiganj and Cumilla.
