Country’s economic growth will reach a record 7.24 percent in the current fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17), according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The per capita income will rise to US$ 1,602 by the end of the current fiscal year, which was US$1,465 in FY16, said the BBS which came up with the estimates based on information from the first ten months of 2016-17 (July-April).
While briefing journalists at the NEC conference room on Sunday Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal Kamal attributed the growth to the encouraging exports and robust agricultural outputs to the record high growth.
