The High Court on Thursday granted ad interim bail for four weeks to Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) mayor and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisor MA Mannan and 21 other BNP leaders in a case filed in connection with Sunday’s clash with police here.
An HC bench comprising Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Haque and Justice Akram Hossain Chowdhury passed the order following bail petitions.
The others who secured bail include five pro-BNP GCC councillors, district
BNP adviser Advocate Shahiduzzaman and district BNP vice-president Ahmed Ali Rushdi.
At least 50 people, including mayor Mannan, were injured in a clash between police and BNP activists in front of Gazipur BNP office here on Sunday.
