The Gazipur and Khulna City Corporation polls will be held on May 15.
The decision was taken in a meeting held in the commission office yesterday.
Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda announced the schedule of two City Corporation polls at a press conference in the Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Saturday.
According to the election schedule, the deadline for the submission of nomination papers is April 12, while the dates for scrutinising those are April 15 and 16, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 23.
Dhaka Regional Election Officer Rakibuddin Mandol has been made the Returning Officer of Gazipur City Corporation, while Khulna Regional Election Officer Md Yunus Ali of Khulna City Corporation.
The tenure of Gazipur City Mayor will expire on September 4, Khulna September 25, Rajshahi October 5, Sylhet October 8 and Barisal October 23.
