Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League: Gazi Group notch 6 wkts win over CCS

A brillant century by Anamul Haque Bijoy helped Gazi Group Cricketers to notch a 6-wicket victory over Cricket Coaching School (CCS) in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.
In the day’s another league match; Victoria Sporting Club crushed Kalabagan Cricket Academy by 5 wickets at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) ground-3 in savar.
The day’s other league match between Dhaka Mohammadan Sporting Club and Legends of Rupganj shifted to reserve day (Tuesday) as the match was postponed at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah due to wet outfield following overnight rain with storm across the country
Gazi GC vs Cricket CS
Chasing a target of 177 runs, Gazi GC reached their destination scoring 179 for 4 in 33.4 overs featuring 100 runs by opener Anamul Haque.
Anamul furnished his 85-ball century with four boundaries and seven sixes before he was caught by Saleh Ahmed Shawon off Mohammad Saifuddin delivery. Later, Anamul was adjudged man of the match.
Number four batsman Farhad Hossain was another notable scorer for promoted Gazi GC hitting 45 runs off 75 balls including three boundaries and one six.
Mohammad Saifuddin bagged three wickets for 26 runs in 7.4 overs while former national vice captain Rajin Saleh took one wicket for 19 runs.
Earlier, sent in to bat first, Cricket CS finished were all out for 176 in 47 overs despite two half centuries by Uttam Sarkar and Salman Hossain.
Uttam Sarkar scored 54 off 72 balls including eight boundaries while Salman Hossain made 52 off 61 balls featuring six boundaries.
Opener Amit Majumder (28) and tail-ender Nasum Ahmed (not out 15) were the two other notable batsmen reaching double figures.
Right-arm medium pacer Mohammad Sharif and off-spinner Mehedi Hasan took two wickets each.
Victoria SC vs Kalabagan CA
Chasing a target of 264 runs, Victoria Sporting Club reached their ultimate goal scoring 266 for 5 in 48.1 overs with opener Abdul Mazid and Al-Amin making half centuries.
Mazid scored 69 off 92 balls including six fours and two sixes before he was caught by Nuruzzaman off Abu Jayed delivery, leaving team total 174/3 in 30.5 overs.
Al-Amin, who was adjudged man of the match, scored 54 off 52 balls with six boundaries and one six. Al-Amin was caught by Mohammad Arafat off Mahmudul Hasan ball.
Mominul Haque, Dhiman Ghosh and skipper Nadif Chowdhury contributed 35, not out 32 and not out 29 runs respectively.
Abu Jayed captured three wickets while Mahmudul Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraz took one wicket each .
Earlier, sent in to bat first, Kalabagan CA scored 263 for 6 in 50 overs with opener Irfan Sukkur scoring the team highest 88 runs off 116 balls hitting seven boundaries.
Irfan was caught by Dhiman Ghosh off a Enamul Haque delivery with scoreboard showing 153/3 in 36.1 overs.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz was another notable scorer making 51 runs off 44 balls, hitting three boundaries and one six before he was caught and bowled by Suhrawadi Shuvo.
Skipper Mahmudul Hasan, Nuruzzaman, Myshukur Rahaman and Mohammad Arafat scored 31, 30, 27 and 23 runs respectively.
Suhrawadi Shuvo bagged two wickets for 20 runs while Mominul Haque, Enamul Haque Jr, Al-Amin and Kamrul Islam Rabbi took one wicket each.
