Universal Boss Chris Gayle has landed in the UAE and will undergo six-day quarantine at the designated hotel in Dubai before joining the team Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for the practice sessions ahead of the 13th edition of Indian Premier League.
There were doubts about his availability recently given that he was part of sprint legend Usain Bolt’s lavish birthday party and possibly affected with coronavirus. However, he tested negative twice for the virus and he took to Instagram to post pictures of him travelling to the Middle East country for the cash-rich league. Gayle, who last played in Bangladesh Premier League, has skipped the Caribbean Premier League. He will possibly forge an opening partnership with talented KL Rahul at the top of the innings. Skipper Rahul too heaped praises on the giant southpaw saying he would be crucial to their fortunes in the league. “We at Kings XI Punjab have had a great experience with Chris and me luckily, I have played with him for years now, we have shared great friendship, we have had some partnerships in the middle, he is a great guy to have in the team,” Rahul said in a video posted on the IPL official website.
