With the establishment of pipeline, the probability process for gas supply in this region has started through Bogura-Rangpur-Saidpur Gas Transmission Pipe Line Project on Tuesday .
Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL), Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, have named the project ‘Construction of Bogura-Rangpur-Syedpur Gas Transmission Pipe Line’. It has been estimated that Tk 370. 61 cr will be spent for this purpose . The government has approved the implementation of the project aimed at supplying gas to 11 districts of northern region including Saidpur Bogra, Rangpur and Nilphamari.
According to the source of Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, it is learnt that this is the Prime Minister’s priority project. In the light of the instruction of the Prime Minister, efforts are being made to expand the pipeline with high speed up to Saidpur. As part of this, 150 kilometer pipeline is being set up. Through this, electricity and industrialization will be expanded in those districts.
The sources said, the acquisition of 305.33 acres (305.33) acres of land under the project will be acquired. In addition, necessary office infrastructure will be built in Rangpur, Saidpur and Bogra. The implementation of the work will be done in July 2021.
On Tuesday, a team of 3- member under the leadership of Eng Mosaddek Hossain, engineer of Bogra-Rangpur-Saidpur Gas Transmission Pipe Line Project verified the possibility of construction of office infrastructure at Saidpur. Assistant Manager of the Project Moudud Ahmed and Manjur Alam were also present.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) of Nilphamari Shahinur Rahman and Assistant Commissioner of Land Saidpur, Parimal Kumar Sarker were present at that time.
