A man was killed and seven people were injured as a gas cylinder exploded at a bakery in East Kushighat area of Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ismail Khan, 35, son of late Iskandar Khan of Dilgaon village in Chunarghat upazila of Habiganj district.
Locals said the accident took place around 8pm when the gas cylinder of ‘Pusti Bakery’ went off with a big bang at a room, leaving bakery employee Ismail dead on the spot and seven other staff critically injured. The injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
