Gas supply will remain suspended in parts of Dhaka, Savar and several southern districts from 10pm on May 3 for 48 hours, Titas gas authorities said.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said that Amin Bazar, Hemayetpur, Savar EPZ, Ashulia, Manikganj and Dhamrai areas will be out of gas supply during the period due to maintenance and replacement work.
Titas gas authority informed it in a press release.
It added that for the same reason, several other areas of the capital including Gabtoli, Mazar Road, Kalyanpur, Shyamoli, Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi may be in trouble due to low gas pressure.
Meanwhile, the Gas Transmission Company of Bangladesh (GTCL) also will suspend gas supply to two high-pressure pipelines for maintenance and replacement works for 48 hours from 10pm on May 3.
The GTCL said in a public notice that the high-pressure gas pipelines are Dhanua-Savar 20-inch dia gas transmission line and 30-inch dia gas transmission line from Bangabandhu Bridge’s Eastern end to western end.
It said also that due to this maintenance and pipeline replacement work of the two high-pressure pipelines, gas supply might be disrupted in the Dhaka and the Savar areas under the Titas Gas distributing areas and in South-western districts.
The power plants, industries, CNG stations, residential consumers of the areas might face gas shortage during the period.
The Sundarban Gas Company Limited is authorised to supply gas to the South-western districts.
