Burnley are one of a number of clubs considering a move for Chelsea captain Gary Cahill. The former England captain is out of contract this summer after seven years at Stamford Bridge and bid farewell to Chelsea fans after their 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday. Cahill, 33, is keen to prove he can still play a significant role in the Premier League despite being largely ignored by Maurizio Sarri this season. Speaking to the Telegraph, Cahill was scathing in his assessment of Sarri’s man-management at Stamford Bridge. He said: “If you are not playing a player, any player, for two, three, four games, then you don’t have to give a reason for that. But if it gets to eight or nine games, then you have to explain the situation. What’s going on? “But the manager hasn’t done that. I see some of the situations with players who won the title with Chelsea, not just myself, and it just hasn’t been right.
