Inter-district dacoity leader was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Detective Branch of Police when his cohorts were taking preparation for robbery.
The gunfight took place at Chharaitkandi under Sonagazi upazila in Feni district early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain, 35, son of late Abdur Rab. He was accused in 42 cases filed with different police stations. Three cop member sustained injuries during the incident.
Ranjit Kumar Barua, In-Charge of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Feni, confirmed the news.
A one-pipe gun and three rounds of fresh bullets were recovered from the spot, he added.
