Former city Mayor and former legislator of Banskhali Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury said the dwellers of Gandamara Union of Banskhali will not obstruct the construction of coal fired power plant in Banskhali after fulfillment of 9-points demand including of compensation of Tk.15 lakh to each death victim’s family of the Gandamara union. He was addressing the public rally at Gandamara Hadirpara Cyclone centre ground as chief guest.
Gandamara Union Andolan committee arranged the public rally followed by Milad Mahfil in memory of the victims. Mentionable that a 201 -member GPAC was formed on Tuesday excluding former UP chairman Liaquat Ali. A district administration sources said after demand of 9-points by the committee, govt has taken decision to compensate the victims famity of tk.15 lakh each by next day.
District administration informed about the payment of compensation in a press statement so issued to media on Thursday night.
