Gafargaon Juba League leader hacked to death, 1 held

A Juba League leader named Matiur Rahman Mohan, 32, was hacked to death by miscreants in the Shibganj Bazar area of Gafargaon in Mymensingh. The incident took place around 6 pm on Sunday.
Matiur Rahman Mohan is the son of Abdus Sattar of Panchua village in the upazila.
He is the leader of Raona Union Juba League and the presidential candidate of Raona Union Juba League.
According to eyewitnesses, police and the family of the deceased, Matiur Rahman Mohan left his house at around 5 pm on Monday to go to his father-in-law’s house in Digha village of the upazila. He was accompanied by village police and cousin Kanchan Mia (30).
On the way, he went down to Shibganj market and bought clothes from the shop for his only 4-year-old daughter Mohna.
At around 6 pm, two unidentified miscreants (one of them was wearing a black mask) blocked Mohan’s way just before he started riding again on a motorcycle in the passenger camp area of Mohan Shibganj bus stand. He took out a sharp weapon (Ramda) and started beating Mohan.
